Dentures

If you’re missing several or all your teeth, you do not have to live with the challenges of an incomplete smile. Dentures are removable oral appliances used to replace multiple missing teeth. If you are missing some or all of your teeth, dentures might be just what you need to restore the function, beauty, and health of your smile. With dentures, you can also regain the ability to speak and eat normally. There are two kinds of dentures: complete dentures and partial dentures.

  • A complete denture replaces all of the teeth in a full dental arch. Depending on your individual needs, we may suggest a complete denture to replace all of the teeth in one or both arches. Complete dentures combine replacement teeth with a gum-colored base that rests on top of your gum tissue to treat an entire arch. The base is held in place using suction or adhesive to provide the support you need for speaking and eating.

  • A partial denture is used if you are missing multiple teeth but have natural teeth remaining. A partial denture often includes a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth for a secure fit. Partial dentures are custom-crafted dental prosthetics used to treat consecutive and nonconsecutive tooth loss. Replacement teeth are set in a gum-colored base that has metallic attachments that allow them to be held in place by your remaining teeth.

If you are missing multiple teeth, Drs Rainey and Montalvo may recommend complete or partial dentures to restore your smile using a personalized treatment plan. Dentures can improve your ability to speak and eat properly, restore your natural facial volume, and enhance the overall beauty of your smile. Your dentures will be custom-made to fit your smile comfortably, aesthetically, and securely. If you’re ready to fill the spaces of your smile, we invite you to call or visit us to learn more about how dentures can improve your smile!
